The writing exercise today in our telephone creative writing group is –
Once Upon a Time…
The idea is to write a story in which the normal rules of the world are changed slightly. Here are some examples:
- “Once upon a time there was a world where all the rivers and oceans were frozen solid…”
- “Once upon a time there was a country where everyone slept during daylight and woke at night…”
- “Once upon a time there was a land where people remained children all their lives…”
As a warmer you can write a list of different worlds inspired by the above. Then when you have chosen one particular ‘world’ start scribbling!
In June 2015 Open Age is holding an exhibition and event at Paddington Arts. If you are interested in submitting your work please read the following…!
